Schools Pinchgut in Schools
In 2010, Pinchgut started a
small but effective schools program that reached a number of high schools
around metropolitan Sydney. The aim is to provide insight into the opera world
from the Pinchgut perspective and engage students in the music and the making
of an opera so perhaps they become life-long fans.
We offer a number of tickets
to our performances to be given as prizes for excellence in music. We present
talks to students of music, drama and literature and provide any further
information or music that the teachers want to co-ordinate with their program.
A donor has given us some money to support this wonderful initiative in
schools. This year we have added to the number of schools, both private and
public, and we welcome those students and their teachers and families to
Pinchgut and the world of Vivaldi’s music.
