ACCESSIBLE SEATING

Pinchgut Opera has a range of seating options to ensure that your performance experience is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Wheelchair accessible seating is available. Patrons can choose to remain in their wheelchair or transfer to a seat. There are also level access seats available for patrons using mobility aids or who require mobility assistance.

For patrons with sensory sensitivities or who may need to exit the auditorium during a performance, we can arrange seating on or near the end of a row and close to the exit doors to facilitate any mid-performance entry or exit requirements.  Please contact our ticketing staff when booking your tickets to discuss these requests so that we can advise on the best seating for your needs and coordinate with the venue.

 COMPANION CARD

The Companion Card can be used to book a complimentary ticket for an essential support companion/carer at all Pinchgut Opera events. If you have a Companion Card, please get in touch with our ticketing staff when booking so that we can process your complimentary ticket. Companion Card bookings cannot be made online, but our friendly ticketing staff will be able to process this over the phone or via email.

 ASSISTANCE ANIMALS

Accredited Assistance Animals are welcome at our performances at City Recital Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre. We prefer if you inform our ticketing staff in advance so appropriate arrangements and seating can be organised with the venue. We also ask that you provide proof of accreditation at the venue.

For Pinchgut performances at venues other than the City Recital Hall or Melbourne Recital Centre, please contact our ticketing staff in advance so that we can liaise with the venue about options for Assistance Animals.

AUDIO DESCRIPTIONS FOR PERFORMANCES

For customers with vision impairments, we can organise audio descriptions of our live performances in collaboration with Vision Australia. Please be aware that Vision Australia prefers to have around 6 months notice, and this service is dependent on the availability of an audio describer.

You can find more venue-specific access information including hearing loops, seat dimensions, elevators and bathrooms at the links below.

Our operas are audio-described for patrons with limited vision. More information on audio-described performances will be made available on the production page closer to the performance.

Our venues are fitted with hearing loops for patrons with limited hearing.

Accredited assistance dogs are welcome in our venues.

If we can do anything to make your visit to Pinchgut Opera more comfortable, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@pinchgutopera.com.au

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we work and perform, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation – the first storytellers and singers of songs.
We pay our respects to their elders past and present.
