We look forward to welcoming you to a Pinchgut Opera performance this year. The following conditions apply to tickets for, and attendance at, Pinchgut Opera performances. Any additional conditions imposed by the performance venues and state governments will also apply.
For City Recital Hall conditions, please visit City Recital Hall’s COVID information page and Melbourne Recital Centre COVID information page.

The safety of our audiences, artists and staff is our priority. Please read the important information below regarding your visit and take the time to read our current COVID Safe measures, noting that we regularly update our processes based on the latest government advice. Check this page for the latest safety measures prior to your visit.

Safety conditions may change prior to your attendance.
Please be aware that when you come to the show, you will be seated according to the NSW Public Health orders prevailing at the date of the performance, not at the time of buying your ticket.

Audience Capacity
City Recital Hall has been granted a special exemption and Pinchgut Opera can perform to 100% capacity audiences.

Melbourne Recital Centre’s current permitted capacity is 75%. Audience groups will not be physically distanced.

Masks are mandatory at all times whilst at the performance venues, except when eating or drinking.

Pinchgut Opera, working with our two performance venues, will continue to act in strict compliance with directions from NSW Health. If you are uncomfortable with these capacities, contact the box office to discuss your options. Our busiest performances are on the weekend, so if possible, you may consider purchasing tickets to weekday performances.

For both venues:

  • Do not attend if you are unwell, have experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days, or are awaiting COVID-19 test results. Contact the box office to get a credit or move your tickets to another Pinchgut Opera performance.
  • Face masks are essential for all audience members over 12.
  • Have your emailed ‘print at home’ ticket ready on your phone before arrival if relevant.
  • Before you visit City Recital Hall, please download the Service NSW App to ensure your arrival at the venue is as smooth as possible:
  • On arrival, head to your seat. The venue will be open from 60 minutes before the performance start time.
  • Practice good hygiene and use the hand sanitiser on arrival.
  • Observe capacity limits for lifts.
  • Cashless payments only on site.
  • Ventilation and airflow is very effective at both of these venues to minimise risk of transmission should the potential exist.

Visitors who do not comply with these conditions will not be admitted or will be asked to leave the venue to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.

We look forward to welcoming you and appreciate your support and cooperation.
