COVID SAFETY AND TICKETING CONDITIONS


The safety of our audiences, performers, and team is our highest priority. Before attending a Pinchgut Opera performance,
we ask that you take note of the information below.

Venue conditions may change prior to your attendance. Please be aware that when you come to the show, requirements will be in accordance with the Public Health Order prevailing at the date of the performance, not at the time of buying your ticket.

All requirements are in accordance with the current Public Health Orders and NSW and Victorian Health department guidelines where relevant and will be updated.

Please refer to the relevant health and safety information at our two performance venues which stipulate what to expect in terms of:

Visitors who do not comply with the venue conditions will not be admitted or will be asked to leave the venue to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR VISIT TO PINCHGUT OPERA

For both venues:

  • Do not attend if you are unwell, have experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days, or are awaiting COVID-19 test results. Contact the box office to get a credit or move your tickets to another Pinchgut Opera performance.
  • Face masks are essential for all audience members over 12.
  • Have your emailed ‘print at home’ ticket ready on your phone before arrival if relevant.
  • Before you visit City Recital Hall, please download the Service NSW App to ensure your arrival at the venue is as smooth as possible:
  • On arrival, head to your seat. The venue will be open from 60 minutes before the performance start time.
  • Practice good hygiene and use the hand sanitiser on arrival.
  • Observe capacity limits for lifts.
  • Cashless payments only on site.
  • Ventilation and airflow is very effective at both of these venues to minimise risk of transmission should the potential exist. 
  • Drinks may not be permitted in the hall but requirements will be communicated at the performance.


Visitors who do not comply with these conditions will not be admitted or will be asked to leave the venue to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.

WHAT IF I AM UNWELL AND CANNOT ATTEND?

If you are unwell and have any COVID symptoms, you are unable to attend the performance.

If a ticket holder can no longer attend a Pinchgut Opera event due to the circumstances relating to health and COVID-19, the below options are available. These options can only be exercised by the person who has made the booking.

  • Please contact the box office from where you purchased your tickets no later than four-hours prior to the performance start time to arrange your exchange/credit/donation or apply for a refund. If you contact the box office within four hours of the start time, a refund will not be approved.

Tickets purchased via Melbourne Recital Centre are eligible for exchange and refunds only (no credit).

EXCHANGE

  • Tickets can be exchanged for another Pinchgut Opera performance without an exchange fee (for tickets purchased from Opera Australia box office).

CREDIT

  • You may request a credit to be applied to your ticketing account to be used for a future Pinchgut Opera performance. Credit will be valid for 3 years from the date of issue for any future Pinchgut Opera performance. The credit must be arranged no later than 4 hours before the start of the ticketed performance.

DONATE

  • The value of the ticket can become a tax-deductible donation for any amount over $2 (for tickets purchased from the Opera Australia box office).

REFUND

  • Except where required by law, we will provide refunds at our discretion. Any request for a refund needs to be made no later than 4 hours before the scheduled start of the event by contacting the box office from where you purchased your tickets.


CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

If at the time of the event either you or any other attendees of your group fall into any of the categories listed below, you agree not to attend the event:

  • feel unwell with any of the COVID-19 symptoms as identified by NSW Health (such as fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or loss of taste;
  • have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test; or
  • are subject to a self-quarantine or self-isolate period.

You also agree to consider your own safety, wellbeing and any applicable government advice before attending the event. By attending the event, you accept any risk associated with the event, including in relation to COVID-19.



CONDITIONS OF SALE
  • Tickets are sold by Opera Australia, City Recital Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre on behalf of Pinchgut Opera; Tickets are subject to Pinchgut Opera’s conditions of sale and to the requirements of the venue at which the activity is presented.
  • The right of admission is reserved.
  • The right is reserved to vary, substitute or withdraw advertised programs, artists, and seating arrangements.
  • Tickets are non-refundable except as specified in the Entertainment Industry Code of Fair Practice
  • Mobile telephones must be switched to ‘silent’ for the duration of the performance. Photos are welcome during bows, but photography is not permitted during performances.
  • Pinchgut Opera reserves the right to record or broadcast any performances.
  • Ticket/s are valid only when purchased from Opera Australia, City Recital Hall, or Melbourne Recital Centre.
  • Performances may be unsuitable for children under eight years of age. All patrons, irrespective of age, must hold a valid ticket.
  • Patrons arriving late will be admitted into the venue’s auditorium when there is a suitable break in the performance.
  • Patrons who disrupt a performance may be asked to leave the venue.
  • Existing ticket credits from postponed 2020 performances may only be redeemed by calling the Opera Australia Box Office on (02) 9318 8300.
