Dimitri is a young up and coming Australian cinematographer, born in Sydney to Greek-Australian parents. After starting out in the film industry in 2004 he worked as an assistant under some of Australia’s best cinematographers such as Andrew Lesnie, John Seale and Russell Boyd ACS ASC, and with some of Australia’s best feature film directors including George Miller, Jane Campion, Baz Luhrmann and Jennifer Kent.

While working in the industry Dimitri studied photography in Sydney and eventually moved to the US to specialise in cinematography, where he trained on shooting 16mm and 35mm film before setting out on his own career as a director of photography.

He has gone on to shoot a wide variety of films and his body of work now spans many ABC TV programs, commercials, music videos and art films in collaboration with international artists such as Asad Raza that have been exhibited at the AGNSW. His debut narrative feature film as DOP, 'Friends and Strangers' is currently in post-production for a 2021 release.
