Isabel Hudson is an award-winning set and costume designer.


Designs include: WINYANBOGA YURRINGA directed by Anthea Williams, EVERY

Isabel won the 2019 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Set Design for the musical
CRY-BABY (Hayes Theatre). She also received Sydney Theatre Award nominations
for Best Set Design for the musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS (Hayes Theatre), and for
DRY LAND (Outhouse Theatre Co).


For Opera Australia, Isabel was assistant designer for MERRY WIDOW and MY
FAIR LADY; and for Sydney Theatre Company, she was assistant designer on
THREE SISTERS directed by Kip Williams.


Isabel graduated from NIDA’s Design course in 2015; and holds a Bachelor of Arts
(Screen and Sound) from the University of New South Wales. She was awarded the
William Fletcher Foundation Scholarship. Isabel is a lecturer for the Design for
Performance program at NIDA.


In 2020, Isabel is designing set for TORCH THE PLACE directed by Dean Bryant for
Melbourne Theatre Company and set and costume for EVERY BRILLIANT THING at
Belvoir directed by Kate Champion.
