As COVID remains an ever present threat to live performance, and without the government support which underpinned 2020 and 2021, the risks we face in 2022 are higher than any we faced over the past two years. Also, we are finding some audiences are still reluctant to return, which impacts our main revenue source. Therefore, we need your help more than ever before.
In a usual year, 30% of our income comes from your donations. Thanks to your support, along with smart business management on our part, the company is well placed to weather the certain challenges that lie ahead. However, we still need your help to continue bringing our music to the stage.
“In my opinion, Pinchgut Opera Company is Australia’s benchmark for musical integrity, inclusivity and creative story-telling. Respect is at the heart of all company practice, and it is always the hugest of pleasures to return to the Pinchgut family bosom and to play a part in their exemplary creative endeavours.”
- Kanen Breen, L’Ormindo, The Coronation of Poppea, Platée
"Pinchgut Opera is synonymous with love and respect - love and respect for the art, their artists and their audiences alike, and the gifts they give to all three are endless! My experience on the mammoth feat that was “A Delicate Fire” (not to forget, during a world pandemic when artistic life was otherwise very bleak) is one I will cherish forever, and I know I share this feeling with everyone involved. I am sure that whatever illustrious trajectory this company continues to take, it’s love for its artists (of which I and so many of my colleagues feel blessed to have), the repertoire and theatre they passionately explore and rejuvenate, along with it’s respect for their cherished, loyal audiences and supporters will continue to make up the backbone of Pinchgut. "
