TICKETING TERMS AND CONDITIONS


PINCHGUT OPERA TICKETING POLICY


CONDITIONS OF SALE
  • Tickets are sold by Opera Australia, City Recital Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre on behalf of Pinchgut Opera; Tickets are subject to Pinchgut Opera’s conditions of sale and to the requirements of the venue at which the activity is presented.
  • The right of admission is reserved.
  • The right is reserved to vary, substitute or withdraw advertised programs, artists, and seating arrangements.
  • Tickets are non-refundable except as specified in the Entertainment Industry Code of Fair Practice.
  • Cameras and other recording devices are not permitted in the venue’s auditorium. Mobile telephones, must be turned off before entry into the venue’s auditorium.
  • Pinchgut Opera reserves the right to record or broadcast any performances.
  • This ticket is valid only when purchased from Opera Australia, City Recital Hall or Melbourne Recital Centre.
  • Performances may be unsuitable for children under eight years of age. All patrons, irrespective of age, must hold a valid ticket.
  • Patrons arriving late will be admitted into the venue’s auditorium when there is a suitable break in the performance.
  • Patrons who disrupt a performance may be ejected from the venue.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS RELATING TO COVID-19

Please take the time to read these special conditions, as Pinchgut Opera has been required to make changes to its terms and conditions and procedures. While COVID-19 public health orders and NSW Government requirements are in place, the terms and conditions under this section will apply.

The changes are designed to help keep everyone safe, and to support our visitors, artists and staff in line with current requirements and restrictions relating to COVID-19. They are summarised as follows:

  • Please stay at home if are you are unwell or pose a risk to others. If you are symptomatic, we may refuse entry to minimise the risk to others.
  • City Rectial Hall has implemented changes to a number of processes – when you visit you will see changes relating to physical distancing, entry and exit points, security arrangements, queuing, event and door opening times, food and beverage service, selling of merchandise and cloak room policies.

The following conditions now apply in relation to tickets for, and attendance at, Pinchgut Opera events.

SEATING AND CAPACITY

  • Seats can be booked in groups of two or as single tickets, with one or two vacant seats either side of each booking.
  • Seating will be accordance with the current NSW Health Regulations, ensuring adequate physical distancing and adherence to all NSW government guidelines. 
  • To maintain safe distancing, it is not possible to seat groups larger than two people together for these performances.


YOUR TICKETS

  • Tickets are available for purchase online, or by calling the Opera Australia Box Office on 02 9318 8300 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. 
  • All ticket buyers will receive a receipt via email AND an Electronic Ticket in a separate email. You will need to show the electronic ticket, either on a phone screen or printed out, for entry to the performance.
  • Existing ticket credits may only be redeemed by booking online calling the Opera Australia Box Office.


COVID SAFE PRACTICES AND CONTACT TRACING REQUIREMENTS

You can only purchase tickets for Pinchgut Opera if you provide us with the minimum contact details required by the law, which includes your name and phone number or email
address.

In the event that the NSW Health or other Government Department makes a request, we may be required to disclose your personal information (such as full name, contact email &/or contact phone number) for contact tracing purposes. By purchasing your ticket, you are providing us with your permission to do so.

If you are attending the Event as part of a group, as the primary ticket purchaser, you are responsible for knowing the contact details of all attendees in your group. In the event you
are contacted directly by the Government, including the NSW Health for the purposes of contact tracing, you must: (a) make the contact details of your group available to the Government (if you have the consent of each group member to do so); or (b) contact each member of your group, and request that they provide their contact details to the Government directly.

If someone else will attend in your place (including where you have resold your ticket(s), you must obtain their contact details and permission to share their contact details with Opera Australia or require them to contact us on 02 9318 8200 or ticketing@opera.org.au

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

If at the time of the event either you or any other attendees of your group fall into any of the categories listed below, you agree not to attend the event:

  • feel unwell with any of the COVID-19 symptoms as identified by NSW Health (such as fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or loss of taste; 
  • have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test;
  • are subject to a self-quarantine or self-isolate period;
  • have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days; or 
  • have returned from overseas or have visited a "positive COVID-19 case location" as outlined by NSW Government in the last 14 days before your intended date of attendance.

You also agree to consider your own safety, wellbeing and any applicable government advice before attending the event. By attending the event, you accept any risk associated with the event, including in relation to COVID-19. 


TICKETING

  • Advance ticket purchases via phone or online is strongly encouraged to access the limited available seats and minimise contact.
  • When you purchase your ticket, you will be emailed a receipt. An electronic ticket will be sent on the morning of the event to the same email address
  • All Pinchgut Opera events adhere to the maximum allowable capacity of each venue under the COVID-19 public health orders applicable to the particular venue and current at that time.
  • Venues will be sold in physically distanced seating patterns as required in line with the COVID-19 public health orders applicable to the particular venue and current at that time.

WHAT IF I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND?

If a ticket holder can no longer attend a Pinchgut Opera event due to the circumstances relating to health and COVID-19 above the below options are available to all ticket holders but can only be exercised by the person who has made the booking. We reserve the right to request further information regarding the circumstances which apply to the affected ticket holder.

  • Credit
    • A credit will be applied to your ticketing account to be used for a future Pinchgut Opera performance and will be valid for 3 years from the date of issue and are transferable. The credit must be arranged no later than 2 hours before the start of the event. Request a gift voucher here.
  • Donate
    • The value of the ticket can become a tax-deductible donation for any amount over $2.
  • Refunds
    • Except where required by law, we will only provide refunds in our absolute discretion. Any request for a refund must be made no later than 3 hours before the scheduled start of the event by contacting us on (02) 9318 8200 or ticketing@opera.org.au

We are not responsible for any expenses you incur or may incur in relation to the requirements or options set out in this section.
