Brianna Louwen

Soprano

Brianna Louwen is an Australian soprano, originally from Western Australia and now based in Sydney. Equally at home on the concert platform, operatic stage, and within small vocal consort settings, she is steadily building a diverse performance portfolio across multiple genres. Praised for her clarity of tone, expressive musicality, and stylistic versatility, Brianna continues to establish herself as a compelling emerging artist within Australia’s classical and early music landscape.

Brianna completed her Master of Arts in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing at the University of York (UK), where she studied under Robert Hollingworth and performed and studied with his ensemble, I Fagiolini. This specialised training shaped her passion for historically informed performance and collaborative small ensemble work.

From 2019–2021, Brianna was a Wesfarmers Arts Young Artist with West Australian Opera, later returning as a principal artist. Her roles with the company include the Turnspit in Rusalka, Annina in La Traviata, and Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro. She has also appeared with Pinchgut Opera as Amour in Medée and in Women of the Pietà.

Brianna performs regularly with leading ensembles and companies including Opera Australia, Sydney Chamber Opera, The Song Company, Bach Akademie Australia, Australian Baroque, the Choir of St James’ King Street, Sydney Chamber Choir, St George’s Cathedral (Perth), the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Perth Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
