Soprano
Scottish-born soprano Jillian Halleron is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
Since graduating, Jillian has performed extensively across Australia, beginning as a member of the West Australian Opera (WAO) chorus and regularly contributing to projects with Freeze Frame Opera (FFO).
In 2019, she relocated to Sydney to join Pacific Opera’s Young Artist Program. During her time with Pacific Opera, highlights included appearing as a soloist with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and performing for Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and distinguished guests at Government House.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jillian returned to Perth and was grateful for the opportunities to continue performing during a challenging period for the arts community. She was a Wesfarmers Arts Young Artist and Bendat Scholar with West Australian Opera across 2022 and 2023. Career highlights included appearing as a soloist in WAO’s reimagining of Bach’s Easter Oratorio, alongside a newly commissioned work by Lachlan Skipworth; performing the role of the Maid in Tosca; touring with WAO’s Act Belong Commit Sing Out Loud education workshops; and covering roles including Annina in La Traviata and Micaëla in WAO’s Carmen for Perth Festival.
In 2024, Jillian returned to Sydney to continue her performing career. Her most recent engagements include joining the Opera Australia Chorus in their productions of Turandot and Rusalka.
