Kate Beere

Kate Beere is a set and costume designer working across theatre, film, and live events. Her practice is grounded in text-driven design and architectural storytelling with close collaboration with directors and performers. Kate holds a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design for Performance) from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

Selected set and costume design credits include The Player Kings, Eureka Day, Arlington, and The Inheritance (set design) at the Seymour Centre (2024-2025); The Lonesome West, Sparkly Darkling, and So Young at the Old Fitz Theatre (2024–2025); and The Seagull at KXT (2025).

Recent design highlights include set and costume for Toy Symphony written and directed by Michael Gow at Sutherland Pavilion as well as set design for Harlots at the Old Fitz.

Kate’s work has been recognised by the Sydney Theatre Awards and the Australian Production Design Guild, including a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Independent Set Design for Arlington and further nominations across set and costume design.
