Myriam Arbouz

Soprano

French soprano Myriam Arbouz has established herself as one of the most compelling interpreters of baroque and early classical repertoire. Her distinguished career encompasses opera, oratorio, and chamber music, with performances that have captivated audiences across Europe, Australia, and beyond.

As a sought-after soloist, Myriam has collaborated with some of the world's finest period instrument ensembles, including Pygmalion, Les Talents Lyriques, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra. Her chamber music partnerships, particularly with the renowned organist and harpsichordist Benjamin Alard, have garnered critical acclaim for their sensitivity and musical intelligence.

Myriam's operatic career has taken her to prestigious venues worldwide, from the Salle Gaveau in Paris to the Bolshoï Theatre in Moscow, and from the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon to the Melbourne Recital Centre. Recent acclaimed performances include Amour in Gluck's Orphée et Eurydice at Festival Classique in The Hague and Damon in Stradella's La Forza delle Stelle in Stockholm and Helsinki. She has performed on the stages of the International Theatre Amsterdam, La Comédie de Valence, Opera Barga, Opéra de Rennes, and Opéra de Tours, bringing to life the masterworks of Bach, Handel, Monteverdi, and Lully with equal authority and artistry.

Her growing discography with Alpha, CPO, and EnPhases showcases her versatility across baroque repertoire, featuring works by Bach, Schelle, Agricola, and Bernabei. Notable recording projects include Bach's St John Passion with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging for the All of Bach program, and Pomponio Nenna's unheard madrigals with Comet Musicke, to be released by Ricercar next April.

A passionate advocate for historically informed performance practice, Myriam returns to Australia with great pleasure to collaborate with Erin Helyard and the exceptional musicians of Pinchgut Opera in Handel's Messiah, presented in its original orchestration and with period instruments.
