Peter Garnick

In 2023 Peter retired from the performing arts world after a 42-year career as an executive with symphony orchestras and opera companies in Australia and the US. Fundraising was a consistent thread through each of these roles.

Over the past seven years he and his wife Jillian Graham have attended Pinchgut Opera performances and found them to be eternally inspiring, uplifting and of the highest artistic standard.

Peter feels privileged to join the dedicated Pinchgut team with the aim of helping the company realise its ambition to return to Melbourne for annual seasons of opera. His last professional role was as Philanthropy Executive with Victorian Opera and, having left three years ago, he is relishing the opportunity to be immersed once again in an artform that he loves.
