Renata Beslik
Renata is a multi-talented costume designer, supervisor, stylist and costume practitioner. She graduated from NIDA with a bachelor’s degree in costume production, and has worked professionally in the industry for the past 19 years on hundreds of productions in theatre, opera, ballet, television, film and events.
Her design credits include Evil Dead: The Musical (Stoddart Entertainment), The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet (Sport for Jove), Being Gavin (76 Pictures) and The Colour of August (Newtown Theatre). She was associate designer for Steel Magnolias (Gooding/Woodward Productions), The Life of Galileo (Belvoir St Theatre), Betty-BlokkBuster Reimagined (Red Line Productions) and for couture bridal designer Louise Alvarez.
As a costume supervisor Renata has worked on 16 productions for Pinchgut Opera over the past ten years, and over seventy productions for Ensemble Theatre, Bell Shakespeare, Belvoir St Theatre, New Theatricals and NIDA. Most recently Renata has been the Australian Costume Supervisor for the West End production of Fiddler on the Roof (Trafalgar Entertainment) which is currently touring Australia.
Renata has made costumes for companies such as Opera Australia, Sydney Theatre Company, The Australian Ballet, Darlinghurst Theatre and for musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, American Psycho and King Kong.
Renata is also an accomplished milliner with qualifications from TAFE NSW and has made headwear for productions such as My Fair Lady, Carmen and Aida (Opera Australia), The Nutcracker (The Australian Ballet), films The Great Gatsby and Three Thousand Years of Longing.
