Farnace, recorded at City Recital Hall and conducted from the harpsichord by Pinchgut’s Artistic Director, Erin Helyard. Originally staged in December 2019, this recording captures the fiery drama, dazzling virtuosity and emotional depth of Vivaldi’s final operatic masterpiece.
This release holds deep significance for Pinchgut. It stands as a living tribute to three extraordinary Australian artists who graced our production and have since sadly passed away: Taryn Fiebig (Selinda) — a beloved soprano of radiant artistry and generosity Max Riebl (Gilade) — a rare and arresting countertenor of great tonal beauty and facility Jacqueline Dark (Berenice) — a powerhouse mezzo-soprano renowned for her dramatic and expressive talents
