Soprano Ariana Ricci completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance) in 2023 from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied as a full scholarship student. She is currently studying voice with Dr. Anke Hoeppner-Ryan.
Ariana’s performed roles include ‘Gretel’ - Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck), ‘Le Feu’ - ‘L’enfant et les sortilèges’ (Ravel) (RNCM Winter School), ‘Margery’ - The Dragon of Wantley (Lampe) (The Muffat Collective), ‘Nymph/Spring/First Woman’ - The Fairy Queen (Purcell) (St. Paul’s College Baroque Consort, 2023), ‘First Witch’ - Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) (Albury Chamber Music Festival - 2022, St. Paul’s College Baroque Consort - 2022), and ‘Bellezza’ - Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno (Handel) (Sydney Conservatorium of Music, 2023).
Ariana’s concert soloist credits include Haydn - ‘Nelson Mass’ (SCM Symphony Orchestra), Isaacs - Chamber Symphony (SCM Chamber Orchestra), Handel - ‘Messiah’ (St Paul’s College Choir and Baroque Consort) and as one of the soprano soloists in Ešenvalds - ‘Passion and Resurrection’ (Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Stephen Layton MBE).
Ariana has also had success in various competitions, including as a finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship (2024), and in the Demant Dreikurs Song Competition as a finalist and winner of the Audience Prize (2023). Ariana looks forward to competing in the semi-finals of the IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition in August of 2024.
During her Bachelor’s, Ariana also previously studied with Dr. Rowena Cowley (voice), and Assoc. Prof. Goetz Richter (violin). Ariana will begin a Masters in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music in London in September of this year under full scholarship
