Sydney-based violinist Kiseok Kim began his musical journey with violin lessons at
the age of five and went on to study with the late Bogdan Kazimierczak in Adelaide,
whose guidance had a profound impact on his musical development. His passion for early music deepened under the coaching of Paul Wright in Perth. A former concertmaster of the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, Kiseok has appeared as a soloist
with several orchestras in South Australia and has also served as organist at Clayton
Wesley Uniting Church (Adelaide) and Spring Hill Presbyterian Church (Brisbane).
Kiseok holds the AMusA diploma (2007) from the Australian Music Examinations
Board and regularly performs with early music ensembles across Sydney as a violinist and continuo player. In his spare time, he enjoys researching various aspects of historically informed performance practices and uncovering forgotten gems of chamber music, in pursuit of finding ways to bring the music of the past to life in the present.
Kiseok plays a copy of a 1715 Stradivari violin, commissioned from Polish luthier Jan
Pawlikowski in 2019.
