COVID-19 UPDATE


PINCHGUT OPERA COVID SAFETY INFORMATION FOR AUDIENCES


The safety of our Pinchgut Opera audiences, performers and team is our main priority.

We are working closely with our performance venue, City Recital Hall, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all who attend, and additional health and safety procedures will be in place throughout the concert series.

Before purchasing your tickets, please familiarise yourself with the information, procedures and guidance listed below, developed in conjunction with City Recital Hall.

We recommend you wear a face mask while you are inside the venue and commuting to the venue.

Please keep up to date with NSW health advisories about COVID-19, including outbreaks, via the NSW Health website or contact the national Coronavirus Information Line on 1800 020 080.



CHECKING IN

  • All patrons who visit the venue will need to check in via a QR code before they enter to align with recent NSW Government regulations.
  • Before you visit the venue, please download the Service NSW App to ensure your arrival at the venue is as smooth as possible:


AT THE PERFORMANCE, WE ASK THAT YOU:

  • Do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 are waiting for a COVID-19 test result, have been in contact with a confirmed case or visited a hotspot recently.
  • Please review our Ticketing Terms and Conditions if you are no longer able to attend an event due to illness.
  • Wear a mask if travelling to the venue via public transport, while getting to and from your seat, and during the performance.
  • Practise physical distancing, allowing 1.5m between others and avoiding close contact.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Use hand sanitiser (including before and after eating).
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.
  • Where possible, use contactless payment methods at all transaction points in the venue, including box office and bars.


SEATING & CAPACITY

  • Seats can be booked in groups of two or as single tickets, with one or two vacant seats either side of each booking.
  • Seating will be accordance with the current NSW Health Regulations, ensuring adequate physical distancing and adherence to all NSW government guidelines.
  • To maintain safe distancing, it is not possible to seat groups larger than two people together for these performances


ATTENDANCE GUIDANCE

Please do not attend a performance if you:

  • are feeling unwell
  • have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  • are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test
  • have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19
  • have recently visited a hotspot area

 Please review our ticketing terms and conditions if you are no longer able to attend a performance due to these reasons. Please err on the side of caution when considering your attendance.

If a ticket holder can no longer attend a Pinchgut Opera event due to the circumstances relating to health and COVID-19 above the below options are available to all ticket holders but can only be exercised by the person who has made the booking. We reserve the right to request further information regarding the circumstances which apply to the affected ticket holder.

  • Credit
    • A credit will be applied to your ticketing account to be used for a future Pinchgut Opera performance and will be valid for 3 years from the date of issue and are transferable. The credit must be arranged no later than 2 hours before the start of the event. Request a gift voucher here.
  • Donate
    • The value of the ticket can become a tax-deductible donation for any amount over $2.
  • Refunds
    • Except where required by law, we will only provide refunds in our absolute discretion. Any request for a refund must be made no later than 3 hours before the scheduled start of the event by contacting us on (02) 9318 8200 or ticketing@opera.org.au

We are not responsible for any expenses you incur or may incur in relation to the requirements or options set out in this section.



WHILST AT A PERFORMANCE

  • Temperatures will be checked upon arrival at the venue.
  • We recommend that you wear a face mask while you are inside the venue. If you require a face mask, City Recital Hall will have disposable masks available when you arrive, at no cost to Patrons. 
  • Practise physical distancing, maintaining 1.5m between yourself and others and avoiding close contact.
  • Practise good hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Use hand sanitiser, including before and after eating.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.
  • Where possible, use contactless payment methods at all transaction points within City Recital Hall.


VENUE INFORMATION

  • We encourage you to purchase tickets before the performance. The City Recital Hall box office will not be selling tickets. Any purchases just prior to the performance can be made via your device and entry is gained by showing the electronic ticket on entry.
  • The foyer and foyer bars will be open 90 minutes prior to the start of the performance and the auditorium will open one hour prior.
  • The cloak room will be open from 90 minutes prior to the start of the performance with strictly limited capacity. Please refrain from bringing bulky items that require cloaking.
  • As per current NSW Government guidelines, drinks and refreshments may only be consumed whilst seated in the foyer or can be taken into auditorium.
  • High touch surfaces will be cleaned regularly by City Recital Hall staff, in addition to routine cleaning in adherence to current government recommendations.
  • To maintain appropriate physical distancing, latecomers are advised that they will not be seated in their allocated seats, and will instead be directed by City Recital Hall staff to sit in designated latecomer seats at the rear of the auditorium.
  • If you or a member of your party appear to have flu-like symptoms, you will be directed to leave City Recital Hall, get tested, and self-isolate, in accordance with NSW Government guidelines.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN SEATS?
Yes, you can choose your own seats online or by phone, from the seating groupings available.

CAN I USE A CREDIT FROM A CANCELLED PERFORMANCE FOR THESE PERFORMANCES?
Yes, you can. Please book online to use your credit or phone the Box Office on 02 9318 8300.

WILL I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK AT THE PERFORMANCES?
We recommend that you wear a mask for the safety of yourself and others who attend, as this significantly reduces the transmission rate of COVID and other illnesses.

WILL I HAVE TO LOG IN WITH A QR CODE?
No. The primary ticket purchaser will be the contact for any contact tracing if required. The contact details of the ticket buyer will be passed onto the City Recital Hall in accordance with contact tracing legislation.

WHY DOES MY BANK STATEMENT SAY "PAYMENT TO OPERA AUSTRALIA"?
Because all payments go through Opera Australia’s Box Office before reaching us.

CAN I BUY TICKETS THROUGH CITY RECITAL HALL?
No. All tickets for these concerts are being handled by the Opera Australia Box Office.
