Born and raised on the Far South Coast of NSW, Tim Willis has been a dedicated
scholar of historically informed performance practice since his teenage years.
Following his relocation to Germany in 2014, he performed with Akademie für Alte
Musik Berlin, Collegium 1704 (Prague), Batzdorfer Hofkapelle (Dresden), Elbipolis
Barockorchester (Hamburg) in performances, festivals, recordings, and films around
the world, from Italy to the Netherlands, and Georgia to China. In Australia, he
performs with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Genesis Baroque, and the
Muffat Collective.
Tim is regularly engaged as a researcher, music typesetter and
editor. His editions of newly discovered works from the baroque period have been
used in numerous CD recordings and concert performances by a number of soloists
and ensembles. Tim also has a keen interest in music for viola d'amore and
concertises regularly on that instrument.
