PURCELL AND CHARPENTIER

CONCERT CANCELLATION

We regret to announce the cancellation of our Purcell and Charpentier concerts in both Sydney and Melbourne in September,
due to the implications of the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

We send our love and thoughts to our incredibly resilient artists and arts workers who are the hardest hit by these devastating circumstances.

To our wonderful audience, this is the second time COVID-19 restrictions have prevented us from presenting our joyous Purcell and Charpentier concert for you. We are deeply disappointed this will have to be shelved for now.

We will contact ticket holders via email with information about how to return your tickets.

To everyone in the areas currently affected by the latest outbreaks, we hope you are staying safe and strong. This moment will pass, and we look forward to when we can return to all the things that make us happy and healthy, very soon.

Warmest wishes,

The Pinchgut Team

Say what you like about the French and the English. We think Charpentier and Purcell make excellent (concert) bedfellows.

Genevieve Lang offers us a glimpse into the lives and careers of these two prolific composers, Marc Antoine Charpentier and Henry Purcell.

Separated by just a stretch of water, both composers wrote music of sheer pleasure for Kings.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we work and perform, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation – the first storytellers and singers of songs.
We pay our respects to their elders past and present.
