Handel's Semele
Semele was our first opera in December 2002. Chosen for it’s entertaining story, gorgeous music (including the much loved Where e’er you walk) and beautiful orchestra and chorus work it got us off to a great start.
A wonderful cast included Anna Ryberg as Semele, Angus Wood as Jupiter and Sally-Anne Russell in the double role of Ino and Juno. Director Justin Way and designer Samantha Paxton gave the work a 1960s flavour that sat very well with the piece. The production sparkled from start to finish and the audiences loved it.
